이스라엘 체류 한국인 163명(장기 체류자 81명,공군수송기급파한일명텔아비브탈출 단기 여행객 82명)과 일본인, 싱가포르인 등 220명을 태운 공군 KC-330 ‘시그너스’ 다목적 공중급유 수송기가 지난 14일 밤 10시45분쯤 성남 서울공항에 도착했다.

군 수송기는 13일 정오쯤 한국에서 출발해 이스라엘 현지시간으로 13일 오후 텔아비브 벤구리온 공항에 도착했고, 14일 새벽 다시 한국으로 출발했다.

정부 당국자는 “가자지구에 대한 군사작전이 임박한 상황에서 대한항공을 비롯해 국내 항공사들의 취항이 중단되거나 취소됐다”며 “우리 국민의 귀국 지원에 필요하다고 판단해 군 수송기를 파견키로 결정했다”고 말했다.
